Pastor P. J. Moore
is the pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church, Gadsden, Alabama. He previously
served as Interim Senior Pastor at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church and School in Diamond Bar,
California. Prior to his acceptance into the Lutheran Church - Missouri
Synod he served as Senior Pastor
of Trinity Lutheran Church, Anaheim, California, from 1982 to 2002.
Before graduating from Faith Evangelical Lutheran Seminary, Tacoma,
Washington, he worked
for seventeen years at an Anaheim aerospace electronics firm as an engineer and
manager and for four years as a Computer Specialist with the Weyerhaeuser
Corporation. Married and the father of five children with six grandchildren, he is dedicated to family values from a conservative Christian
perspective. His hobbies are camping and computer science.
In July 2002 Pastor Moore released his Call at Trinity
and installed Pastor Elmore, his long time associate as Senior Pastor and
became an Associate Pastor of the congregation. In the same month he
earned a Doctor of Ministry degree from Concordia Lutheran Seminary in Ft.
Wayne, Ind. His doctoral project is titled, "Pastoral Discipling of
New Members" and is based on his years of experience in the parish.
Transferring his membership from the Conservative
Lutheran Association to the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod through
colloquy in 2003, he served in Intentional Interim Ministry in the Pacific
Southwest District while in the process
of seeking a permanent Call within the LC-MS.
He also has served as president of the Conservative Lutheran Association and Vice President
of the Board for Faith Evangelical Lutheran Seminary in Tacoma, Washington.
